Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Second Edition - Updated and Revised A Bible student reference A New Testament prophecy of a falling away from truth into apostasy and lawlessness, in the final generation before Jesus Christ returns in glory, is being fulfilled now and is shortly to end. Yet Christianity has overwhelmingly moved so far from its first century roots that it could not even recognise this – or that Christ’s return is therefore now almost upon us! How and why this is the case is here explained thoroughly and logically with many examples directly from the word of God. In God’s saving plan for the world, everyone must in time make a free will choice to become part of the ‘Israel of God’ in order to access eternal life in the kingdom of God. The route to take is the “strait and narrow” way (Mat 7:13-14) that very few have so far found, and it involves the biblical new and old covenants which both apply to this Israel. Embark on this voyage only if you are willing to: be challenged about some basic Christian preconceptions, be a serious open-minded Bible student, and trust what the Bible teaches - but remember that time is short. “What the Bible has taught me I see as both vital and urgent for our eternal salvation; yet I know of no church or individual theologian who teaches what this book deals with in any substantive way” “Be prepared for major challenges to your understanding just as God has challenged me.” “In the epistles, Paul refers to two Israels whom he calls Israel after the flesh (I Cor 10:18) and the Israel of God (Gal 6:16); I focus mainly on the latter (but I also explain an unexpected but critically important connection between them)” “Dependent on the teaching, nearly all Christian denominations either teach nothing at all on it or almost the opposite of what Scripture repeatedly showed me. Looking back, I find this absolutely staggering!” “Very few [Christians] understand that the new covenant also only applies to Israel (as I will clearly show).” “I no longer believe that the NT [New Testament] can be fully understood without this extra Israel dimension” “Had I felt I could deliver this in a more light-hearted way I would have done so, but its implications are too awesome and fundamental to our eternal life prospects for that”

Book excerpt: Consider Israel: Covenants in History looks at Biblical covenants and covenant features as a framework to study much of the Old Testament, the eschatological prophecies etc. It highlights the correlation between covenant curses and the troubled Jewish History. It traces the relevance of the covenants to the past, and also to present and future unfolding events, which will impact the Jews, and ultimately, the destiny of the world. The books description of covenants in relation to covenant features, is different and worth considering. Historical evidences giving support to the study of ancient Israels failure as a covenant partner, and the resultant curses, lend more insights to the God of Israel acting in its history. The (far-reaching and inclusive) New Covenant has been examined, along with a summarized comparison with the Mosaic covenants. The covenant relationship between God/Christ and His people, metaphorically depicted as a marriage bond, is in contrast to Babylonian Paganism (adulteress/ harlot) which has infiltrated ancient Israel and Christianity. Different views on Suffering are included in the context of past, present and the predicted future suffering. Chapter 8 concludes with a note of hope especially for Israel for the fulfillment of the promised blessings. There are 4 particular features which may be noticed: (1) The careful research and in-depth study. The arguments presented are based on objective facts and observation of Jewish and contemporary world events, sustained by the weight of reliable and verifiable historical evidences. (2).The writers astute personal observations and insightful comments on relevant issues. (3) The books ability to whet ones appetite; it leaves one with constructive discontent because it pushes one to find out and to examine more about the topics discussed. (4) The tone of the writing is scholarly yet, informal and conversational. The book is reader- friendly, meant for all readers.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Booklets in this first series: On which days was Christ crucified and resurrected? Can we know the year of Christ's crucifixion? Does the Bible’s Creation account accord with scientific discovery? Was Christ crucified on a cross? Why should families symbolise the church and kingdom of God? Who should take the bread and wine, and when? Can we be born again during this earthly life? What annual festivals should Christians celebrate? Is there a Holy Spirit God-person? What is the true gospel? When does the law end for a Christian? Should Christians celebrate a weekly Sabbath? Each booklet in this series focuses on one theme that is also covered more briefly in the 350-page book “Israel and the Covenants in New Testament Times”. Each study's conclusions come from what the Bible reveals consistently, answering all the objections the writer has heard, to leave nothing even apparently contradicted by any other Bible text. By this means they confirm that the booklet provides rock-solid Bible truth and that the Bible is truly the word of God. Despite this, as the booklets' series title suggests, these conclusions are typically unexpected – a primary aim in writing and sharing them. If you find anything unpalatable, please recognise that God is the real author of what these booklets show and the author little more than a researcher and collator of the subject matter. Therefore, if you the reader cannot refute what a booklet in this series asserts directly from the Bible (surely nobody can), please give God your thanks and praise for allowing you to come to the truth from Him. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many Christians think of end times prophecy as a gigantic, intimidating puzzle -- difficult to piece together and impossible to figure out. But every puzzle can be solved if you approach it the right way. Paul Benware compares prophecy to a picture puzzle. Putting the edge pieces together first builds the 'framework' that makes it easier to fit the other pieces in their place. According to Benware, the framework for eschatology is the biblical covenants. He begins his comprehensive survey by explaining the major covenants. Then he discusses several different interpretations of end times prophecy. Benware digs into the details of the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the judgements and resurrections, and the millennial kingdom. But he also adds a unique, personal element to the study, answering questions as: -Why study bible prophecy? -What difference does it make if I'm premillenial or amillenial? If what the Bible says about the future puzzles you, Understanding End Times Prophecy will help you put together the pieces and see the big picture.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Along with a correct understanding of the Bible as the God-breathed Word a correct interpretation is crucial. Basically, there are only two methods of interpretation, 1) the non-literal, allegorical or spiritualizing method, or 2) the literal, so-called grammatical-historical method. The latter, if employed consistently, gives the only correct understanding of what God originally intended to reveal about the salvation of mankind. The first part of this book demonstrates the advantage of the literal interpretation over the allegorical or spiritualizing method, which must be avoided at all costs - unless the text demands a shift from a literal to a figurative interpretation of a word or phrase - bearing in mind that figurative language still reveals literal truths. The second part of the book applies the teaching of the first part to Biblical prophecy, which must be interpreted in the exact same way as any other text in the Word of God. If employed consistently, the literal reading leads to Premillennialism (Christ returns to earth before and in order to establish the Millennial Kingdom), Pretribulationalism (the Church is raptured to heaven before the Tribulation), and Dispensationalism (God's dealings with man in seven consecutive dispensations or stewardships). Besides, 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is explained on the basis of the Greek text so as to be a conclusive defense of the pretribulational Rapture of the Church.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Covenant was once the subject of many theological treatises. However, the author claims that covenants of the Bible are the founding covenants of Western civilization. They have their beginnings in the need to establish clear and binding relationships between God and humans and among humans. These relationships are primarily political in character in that they were designed to establish lines of authority, distributions of power, and systems of law. In Covenant and Polity in Biblical Israel, the first of a trilogy, Daniel J. Elazar addresses political uses of the idea of covenant, the tradition that has adhered to that idea, and the political arrangements that flow from it.

At the same time, the doctrine of covenant has reemerged in religious circles as a common way to map the spiritual dimensions of marriage. Covenant Marriage in Comparative Perspective brings together eminent scholars from Jewish, Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, and Islamic religious traditions as well as experts on American covenant marriage. The introduction carries out an unprecedented comparison of contract and covenant in Jewish, Christian, and Muslim understandings of marriage. The rest of the book elucidates various facets of marriage from the perspectives of both jurisprudence and religion, producing an enlightening integrated picture of the legal and spiritual dimensions of marriage.
